Martract has been acquired by Sheffield based, specialist engineering group, Pressure Technologies and will join its Precision Machined Components Division.

Also in the division are Roota Engineering (based in Rotherham), Al-Met (based in Pontyclun) and Quadscot (based in Glasgow).

Being part of a larger group will allow Martract to expand its customer base, offer additional engineering solutions, increase its competitive advantage and shorten the lead times on many existing products.

John Hayward, CEO of Pressure Technologies, said: "This is an exciting acquisition for Pressure Technologies, it strengthens our existing market position and gives significant opportunity to penetrate new markets. Martract's reputation for technical ability and quality sits well with our Group capabilities and we are delighted to welcome its dedicated and highly-skilled workforce to the Group."

The team at Martract remains unchanged and Steve Andrew who has been with Martract for almost 20 years will be promoted to Site Manager.
